From Homeless to Fortunate - Chris Gardner

Some of you may remember the movie the Pursuit of Happiness, that is a true story about Chris Gardner and his American dream coming true. Once sleeping in subways with his young son to becoming a millionaire.

He was a man who always had the hope of doing better not only for himself but his child as well. In one interview he described a scenario where a man in a Ferrari wanted his parking spot, and when he gave up his spot Chris said, "I will give you my spot if you tell me how you how you got the means to drive that car." This is one of many instances in which he formed relationships, which helped him rise to the top.

Once he was one of the millions of poor Americans ignored in society sleeping in the subways, to one of the Americans who are among the elite society of the rich.

"I think sometimes people get intimidated or afraid to dream" -Chris Gardner

For Chris the American dream is his reality.

My inspiration

I have been most inspired in my life by my Great Grandmother. She came to the United States at the age of 17, and was ever grateful for becoming an American. She came from Italy, got married, and went on to raise a family. Born in 1913 she lived through some of the hardest times in American history. She always was thankful for having endless opportunities in the United States. From her children, to grand children, to her great grand children she has touched the hearts of so many people and lived out the American Dream until she passed away at the age of 96. She inspired me to write this blog and there will be more stories of people living out the dream to come.

The link below is me talking about one of the many great things she did in her life
